Chelsea have finalised the move for 15-year-old Championship prodigy Leo Cardoso
Chelsea have finalised the permanent acquisition of West Brom youngster Leo Cardoso ahead of the summer transfer season. He is the most recent Baggies academy product to create a name for himself.
Cardoso is widely considered as one of the top prospects in the U-16 age group, making the Blues’ signing a possible bargain. His immense talent has already allowed him to play for the England and Portugal young national teams.
The 15-year-old thrived as a number 10 and on both sides of the wing, receiving praise for his strong displays. He was photographed carrying the Chelsea shirt with club stalwarts John Terry and Petr Cech.
Chelsea’s youth academy has grown to be one of the best in the country in recent years. Players that came through the system, such as Reece James and Mason Mount, have gone on to build a name for themselves at the senior level with the Blues.
Furthermore, next-generation players like as Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja have shone during their loan periods and might build a claim for a spot in Chelse’s senior squad ahead of the 2022-23 season. Similarly, Cardoso has the potential to be a future superstar, but he would require regular attention at this stage in his career.
