Xavi Simons has unequivoc informed RB Leipzig that he only wants to join Chelsea, shutting down advanced interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Xavi Simons Rejects Bayern & Man City – Only Wants Chelsea Move

The 22-year-old Dutch winger, hailed as a “complete player” with “amazing dribbling technique” by former teammate Dani Olmo, has already agreed personal terms with the Blues and is now waiting for the clubs to finalize the transfer.

Despite Bayern’s push to sign Simons as a direct replacement for Kingsley Coman (who joined Al-Nassr) and Manchester City’s contingency plan should Savinho depart for Tottenham, Simons has rejected both clubs.

Fabrizio Romano emphasized: “Xavi Simons never considered options other than Chelsea”.

Financial Balancing Act: Leipzig demands €80 million (£69m) for Simons, though Chelsea hopes to secure him for closer to €60 million.

The Blues must offload players to fund the deal, with Christopher Nkunku’s exit critical.

Nkunku’s Role: Bayern Munich are in “positive talks” to sign Nkunku permanently, a move both the player and the German club are optimistic about. Chelsea’s long-standing plan has been “Nkunku and Jackson out, Xavi and Garnacho in”.

Squad Overhaul: Simons would become Chelsea’s ninth summer signing, following arrivals like Joao Pedro, Jorrel Hato, and Jamie Gittens, totaling over €250 million spent.

Simons remains patient while Chelsea accelerates negotiations with Leipzig once Nkunku’s departure is confirmed.

With the transfer window closing on September 1, the Blues face pressure to finalize sales swiftly.

Should the deal materialize, Simons’ versatility and creativity would significantly boost Enzo Maresca’s attack as Chelsea target Premier League and Champions League success.
