With their first match against Wrexham in California on Wednesday, the club has chosen a 28-man roster that will go to the United States. Enzo Maresca’s team will next play Celtic, Club America, and Manchester City rivals in the Premier League, before ending the tour on August 7 in Charlotte, North Carolina, against Real Madrid.

When you take out Djordje Petrovic’s injury and the five players whose international holidays were prolonged, there are forty-three more players that were left off the roster for different reasons. However, the fact that Romelu Lukaku, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Trevoh Chalobah, Cesare Casadei, David Datro Fofana, and Malang Sarr are not included will only serve to feed the rumours that they may permanently leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Enzo Maresca set to axe 6 players from team ahead of 2024-2025 season

Transfermarkt reports that Lukaku, Arrizabalaga, Fofana, and Casadei, who are now valued at a combined £70 million, might cost Chelsea £120 million. Lukaku has been on loan at AS Roma and Inter Milan since his £97.5 million signing in 2021. He might be able to return to Serie A with Napoli.

Chelsea is reportedly interested in Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen. Arrizabalaga, who was signed for a record-breaking £71 million in 2018, is set to leave the team after being loaned to Real Madrid for the 2018–19 season. Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Wesley Fofana are the preferred right-sided centre backs; therefore, Chalobah, an academy product, might also depart.
