Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has given an update on Cole Palmer injury who was in discomfort following Chelsea’s Europa Conference League match against Servette.

Palmer was listed as a substitute for the first-leg clash at Chelsea but joined the group warming up at half-time. Christopher Nkunku helped calm Chelsea fans’ nerves by converting a penalty in the 50th minute.

The 22-year-old was one of three substitutions made during the second half, replacing Marc Guiu. He had a hamstring issue as he made his way off the pitch and straight down the tunnel.

Best news is Cole Palmer will be ready for the weekend clash. During the post-match conference, Maresca said: “Cole felt something, but he looks fine. They already checked him. He looks fine, he looks okay.

“So hopefully there is not any problem and he can be available for Sunday’s game.”

Former Man City striker scored 27 goals for Chelsea last season and was awarded the PFA Young Player of the Year earlier this week following his exceptional campaign.

Chelsea lost their first Premier League match 2-0 to Manchester City and will resume league action this weekend against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
