According to reports from the rumour mill, Chelsea chief Marina Granovskaia has blocked Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan move to AS Monaco.

The Frenchman joined the Blues in 2017 for a fee of £40m from Monaco. He featured 43 tikes under Antonio Conte but was loaned out to AC Milan in season 2018/19 as he wasn’t a part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

He also isn’t a part of plans under Frank Lampard, who is yet to name him in the first team. Having shown improved performances, AC Milan decided against extending his contract as they failed to make make the cut for the Champions League.

Chelsea believe that AS Monaco’s loan deal for the player is unsatisfactory and they are also not confident if the French side could pay the £40m asking price following the loan. They are said to be looking out for a permanent sale instead of loaning him out for a second spell.

Chelsea will face Norwich City in an away game on Saturday, as Lampard’s men aim to register their first win of the Premier League this season.
