Reports state that Chelsea has decided to loan forward David Datro Fofana to Leicester City for the next campaign. The three-time Ivory Coast international made his way to the Blues in January 2023 after making an impression with 24 goals in 65 games for Molde, a Norwegian team that won the league and cup in 2022.
To date, Fofana has only made four appearances for Chelsea as a senior. Instead, he has had more opportunity to play on loan, spending time at Union Berlin before being summoned back and transferred to Burnley, where he scored four goals in fifteen Premier League games despite Burnley’s relegation.
Fofana, 21, has agreed to join Leicester on loan for the 2024–2025 season, according to LondonWorld, although it still doesn’t seem like he’s getting much of a break at Stamford Bridge.

The report also states that Villarreal of Spain is reportedly interested and that the last terms of a loan agreement with a buyout option are being worked out. Fofana, who cost the Blues £11 million in January 2023, was acquired by the team from Molde in Norway, but he has only played in four games and seldom touched the ball for the team.
After joining Union Berlin on loan for the first part of the previous season, the 21-year-old scored twice in 17 appearances for the Bundesliga team. The striker looked impressive in his four goals in fifteen appearances after being loaned out by Chelsea to Burnley for the second half of the season. It now appears he will stay in the Premier League with the Foxes after Chelsea called him back in January.
