Chelsea to loan player to Strasbourg after US tour

According to reports, Chelsea is interested in Strasbourg’s Joaquin Panichelli, as the two teams may make another agreement.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea is reportedly interested in Joaquin Panichelli, the most recent player from Strasbourg. The 23-year-old South American forward has had a fantastic start to life at the high-flying Ligue 1 club, and the Blues are always searching for ways to improve their attacking setup.

After reportedly investing €16.5 million in the summer, Joaquin Panichelli is demonstrating his value with this Strasbourg team. He was purchased from Alaves in the summer, which also happened to be the most costly transaction in the history of the Spanish team, and is giving the top-tier Ligue 1 team a lesson.

Panichelli has already scored seven goals in eight Ligue 1 games, which has guaranteed him the attention he needs from some of the best teams, most notably Chelsea. In the summer, the London team was eager to sign him, but Strasbourg seized control of the situation and made a calculated investment in the striker.

Chelsea eyeing strategic Joaquin Panichelli move

Chelsea would have an easier time closing the transaction because both clubs share ownership. Chelsea would need to shell out a substantial sum of money to get Panichelli, who still has four years left on his current contract.

After he scored 20 goals and provided four assists in 40 games for Mirandés in La Liga 2 last season, Strasbourg made the decision to sign the South American.

He scored a brace against Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 at Parc des Princes on Friday night, demonstrating how quickly he has adapted to his new surroundings this season.

At six feet three inches, Panichelli might be a wise choice for Chelsea if they decide to sign him. With Delap and Pedro already signed and Emega expected to follow, it will be intriguing to see if the West London club decides to get him as well.

Chelsea will play Ajax Amsterdam in the Champions League on Wednesday night after defeating Nottingham Forest handily in the Premier League this past weekend.
