Chelsea have reportedly set a €80 million price tag on midfielder Enzo Fernandez, amid interest from European giants such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Inter Milan.

Chelsea Ready to Sell Enzo Fernandez for €80M – Will Real Madrid Make a Move?

Fernández, who joined Chelsea in January 2023 for a British-record transfer fee of £106.8 million from Benfica, has experienced a tumultuous tenure at Stamford Bridge.

Despite a promising start, his form has waned, leading to a loss of his starting position under head coach Enzo Maresca. Maresca has favored the physicality of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia in midfield, relegating Fernández to the bench in recent matches.

Real Madrid’s interest in Fernandez has intensified, with reports suggesting the Spanish club is considering a swap deal involving French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

Tchouameni, who joined Real Madrid in 2022 for £85.3 million, has struggled to secure regular playing time under coach Carlo Ancelotti, often being deployed out of his preferred position.

This proposed exchange could address both players’ current challenges at their respective clubs.

Barcelona and Inter Milan are also monitoring Fernandez’s situation. Barcelona, in particular, sees him as a potential reinforcement for their midfield, especially considering his reduced role at Chelsea.

Off the pitch, Fernandez has faced personal challenges, including a recent separation from his long-term partner, Valentina Cervantes, with whom he shares two children.

This personal turmoil has coincided with his professional struggles, further complicating his situation at Chelsea.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Fernandez’s future remains uncertain. Chelsea’s willingness to negotiate, coupled with interest from top European clubs, suggests a potential move could be on the horizon.

For Fernandez, a transfer might offer a fresh start and the opportunity to reignite the form that once made him one of football’s most promising talents.
