In order to beat Newcastle and Tottenham to acquire Brighton goalie Bart Verbruggen, Chelsea is willing to spend £50 million. Bart Verbruggen is the custodian that Chelsea is most interested in adding to its roster. A TEAMtalk story claims that the Blues are prepared to agree to Brighton’s demands in order to recruit the Dutch custodian, who has only become better since joining the Premier League.
He joined the Seagulls in the summer of 2023 after establishing himself at Anderlecht. In addition to being their unchallenged number one, he is also considered by many to be among the world’s top young goalkeepers.
Due to his outstanding goalkeeping skills, the Dutch international has drawn a lot of interest from European countries. Last summer, clubs were also interested in signing him, but he wasn’t prepared to commit. That is no longer the case, though. Now that he has two years left on his contract, he is prepared to advance in his profession.
Chelsea ready to launch £50m bid for classy Premier league goalkeeper
Mike Maignan committed to AC Milan for the future, and Max Allegri was instrumental in persuading him to stay. Chelsea investigated a move for him last summer and again contemplated signing him on a free transfer.
Verbruggen has taken the lead in talks at Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea have already turned their attention to other possibilities. Verbruggen would fetch more than £50 million, according to sources, which the Blues are willing to pay.
One of Chelsea’s internal possibilities is to bring up Mike Penders, who is highly regarded from sister club Strasbourg. However, there is increasing recognition within the team that Verbruggen is among the best up-and-coming keepers in Europe and is prepared to take over as a permanent No. 1. With Chelsea now firmly in the running and Bayern pressing, the battle for Verbruggen is likely to be one of the most significant custodian sagas of the summer transfer window.
