In light of reports that the winger is planning to transfer to Germany, Chelsea is willing to pay a £5 million penalty NOT to recruit Jadon Sancho. This season, Sancho joined the Blues on loan, although he hasn’t exactly made an impression.
Despite his historic moments, Chelsea is not overly anxious about retaining him on the team, as he has four goals and ten assists in 40 appearances.
According to The Mirror, the west London club will really pay Manchester United a £5 million penalty for failing to fulfill their commitment to make his loan permanent. Ruben Amorim believes there is no way back for the 25-year-old, but the Red Devils are still eager to let Sancho go. Thankfully, Sancho has a few choices at his disposal.
According to The Mirror, Bayer Leverkusen may also make a move, while his old team Borussia Dortmund is also intrigued. Although both German clubs would object to his demands for a salary of £250,000 per week, United is optimistic that a deal could be reached because they now value him at less than £20 million.
Chelsea to pay penalty to send Sancho back to Man Utd
According to a report in The Mirror, Chelsea is preparing to pay the around £5 million penalty charge in order to terminate Sancho’s tenure at Stamford Bridge. However, the Mirror has some positive news for Manchester United as well.
Dortmund is interested in Sancho, and Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen is set to offer Sancho a transfer lifeline. To get rid of him, Ruben Amorim’s team has also lowered his asking price below £25 million.
According to the report, United is prepared to cut their losses on the £73 million former England international after learning that the London club is unlikely to pursue the possibility of permanently signing Sancho after his season-long loan at Stamford Bridge.
Bundesliga teams Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have taken notice of that. Both parties would prefer that Sancho reduce his current weekly wage of £250,000, but United is hopeful that by agreeing to pay less than £20 million for the 25-year-old, the arithmetic will work out.
Additionally, as Leverkusen gets ready to live without coach Xabi Alonso and playmaker Florian Wirtz, they are hoping to infuse their team with some inventiveness.
