According to a Spanish rumour, Chelsea intends to attack Barcelona for three of their best players, with Todd Boehly, the Blues’ co-owner, directly engaged. Boehly has developed a reputation as Chelsea’s hands-on manager. The American billionaire never hesitates to spend big sums of money on significant acquisitions for the London team.
Since Boehly assumed management of the Premier League squad in 2022, Chelsea has spent £1.5 billion on 37 first-team players. However, Chelsea has only won the UEFA Conference League and the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup under Boehly; therefore, the returns have fallen short of the expenditures.
But it hasn’t stopped Boehly from indulging; according to a Spanish story, the Chelsea co-owner is preparing a raid on Barcelona for three of their best players. According to the Catalan media site, Boehly intends to “dismantle Barca” by making a €250 million bid for three players.
Chelsea linked with €250m move for three Barcelona players
Chelsea is reportedly preparing a €250 million bid for three players, according to Football 365, a Catalan media site. The three Barcelona players that the Blues are eager to sign this summer are Raphinha, Dani Olmo, and Jules Kounde.
It’s interesting to note that Chelsea has previously been connected to all three. Kounde and Raphinha were desired by BlueCo during their first summer transfer window. However, both eventually joined Barcelona and have remained there. Rumour has it that Olmo was once considered by the Blues as well. That action also did not take place. In the summer, it could.
Chelsea could undoubtedly benefit from someone like Raphinha. He was performing at a Ballon d’Or level last season. The Brazilian winger has made 27 appearances this season, scoring 14 goals and dishing out five assists.
Additionally, after being punished by UEFA, Chelsea will have to operate under financial restrictions for the foreseeable future. Many of their existing players would go if they made a €250 million move for the trio.
