Chelsea’s aggressive approach to reassembling their team is garnering attention as the summer transfer window progresses. The Blues are reportedly making a highly motivated effort to let go of Romelu Lukaku, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Malang Sarr, according to Football Transfers. This implies a more comprehensive reorganization under Enzo Maresca’s direction.
After Silva and Ziyech’s contracts expired, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall, Omari Hutchinson, Thiago Silva, and Hakim Ziyech left, indicating a clear intention to realign the starting lineup. Trevoh Chalobah, Cesare Casadei, David Datro Fofana, Armando Broja, and Conor Gallagher might all be sold, and Atletico Madrid might show interest in Conor Gallagher.
Chelsea is desperate to sell Lukaku, Kepa and Sarr
Romelu Lukaku made a substantial investment in 2021 when he returned to Chelsea for €113 million. Lukaku had an exceptional time at Inter Milan, but his return to Stamford Bridge didn’t go as expected because of an interview he did with Sky Italia in which he expressed his love for Inter, which resulted in two seasons of loaning him back to Italy.
Kepa had a high price tag of €80 million when he was signed to replace Thibaut Courtois. His Chelsea career hasn’t taken off as he had hoped, despite his ability. As an example of the reach and financial power of non-European markets in modern football, Kepa is now evaluating an offer from Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.
Malang Sarr’s path to Chelsea also serves as a reminder of the difficulties some players have adjusting to playing at the highest level in England. Sarr, who only has 21 matches under his belt after joining on a free transfer from OGC Nice in 2020, has had difficulty finding a consistent spot in the squad.
