In an effort to find a dependable goalie for the upcoming campaign, Chelsea is thinking about making a bid for Gregor Kobel of Borussia Dortmund. According to Foot Mercato, the London club is showing interest in the Swiss international as Enzo Maresca tries to address their goalkeeping issues.
Dortmund is open to talks this summer, and the 27-year-old might go if a good deal comes in. Kobel, who has been with Dortmund for four years, was a member of the squad that advanced to the Champions League final the previous season before falling to Real Madrid.
Both Filip Jorgensen and Robert Sanchez have alternated for Chelsea this season, although neither has been particularly strong. Supporters have blasted Sanchez for making expensive mistakes, and Jorgensen’s brief stint in goal was lacking in quality.
