Marc Guehi - Players Chelsea Could Sign

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Chelsea has decided that they have a better chance of attracting the Crystal Palace star to Stamford Bridge than other targets, so they intend to make a move for Marc Guehi, their top priority, when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Even though the Blues signed a double contract worth £62.4 million last month for Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo, the latter of whom is expected to join from Sporting after having a successful loan stint with Las Palmas, head coach Enzo Maresca wants to strengthen his options in the middle of the backline before his second season in charge.

Guehi progressed through Chelsea’s ranks before concluding his permanent departure in July 2021 with a £18 million transfer to Premier League rivals Crystal Palace. However, the west Londoners are committed to providing a path back to familiar surroundings when the chance presents itself in the upcoming months.

He is still emotionally attached to his previous employers, and if given the opportunity, it is certain that he would be enticed to leave Crystal Palace.

Chelsea confident they will complete Guehi deal

There will likely be a lot of movement at center defense this summer as Axel Disasi departs, and Trevoh Chalobah might follow him out the door. After reaching an agreement in January to acquire the 19-year-old, Mamadou Sarr is already on his way from Strasbourg to the Blues. Guehi and Dean Huijsen have also been heavily connected to the team.

Chelsea is rumored to have maintained interest in Guehi despite their January exploration of a move, which they reportedly opted against owing to cost. According to the article, Chelsea officials believe they will sign Guehi this summer because they believe he still has a strong emotional bond with the team.

Important decision makers think Guehi would have an immediate impact because of his Premier League experience, but Give Me Sport says Newcastle would probably be the biggest rival.

Guehi, who rose through the Chelsea ranks before being acquired by the Eagles for £18 million in 2021, will only have one year left on his contract in the summer, and it doesn’t seem likely that he will sign a new one at this point.
