Chelsea announce contract extension for in-form English midfielder

Cole Palmer has agreed on fresh terms over a new-and-improved deal to keep him at Chelsea until 2033.

Chelsea have officially given an extension to their midfielder Cole Palmer. He has signed a two-year contract extension until June 2033. The Englishman was Chelsea’s best player last season despite a mediocre campaign.

Palmer joined Chelsea from Man City in the summer of 2023 and the 22-year-old gave his best at Stamford Bridge. He had a great season with the club and was player of the season.

The Englishman scored 27 goals and provided 15 assists in 48 appearances for the Blues across all competitions. He scored 22 in the Premier League which was only bettered by Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland.

The versatile attacker signed a seven-year contract when he joined Chelsea last summer, but he has now agreed on fresh terms over a new-and-improved deal to keep him at club until 2033.

Palmer spoke to Chelsea’s official website after signing his new deal at Cobham Training Centre. “I’m buzzing about the new contract, as you can probably tell. The smile hasn’t left my face and I’m just really happy about it.”

“I achieved a lot in my first season here, and hopefully I can continue to experience great things at this club, both on a personal level and in terms of bringing success and trophies to Chelsea.

“Since the first day I walked in the building, I’ve felt really good here. I’ve felt settled and now to know I’m going to be at Chelsea for a long time means a lot to me.

“Everyone knows it was a big move for me when I came last summer. I’d been at one place all my life, but I wanted to have a new experience, I can look back at it now and know it was the right decision. I’m happy I made the move and I’m just loving life here at Chelsea.

“The season just gone, for me personally, was amazing. I felt trusted in the team and I really enjoyed playing. It makes me excited for the season ahead and I think collectively, we can do some really good things this year.”
