Todd Boehly have been slammed by fans for incompetence at their football club

Chelsea has reportedly agreed to a second raid on Sporting Lisbon in as little as 24 hours, with midfielder Dario Essugo expected to follow wingback Geovany Quenda to Stamford Bridge. The amount that the Blues will pay, along with the sizeable contract that is being offered, has been revealed.

As far as transfer discussions go, the Blues have proven to be tough negotiators, and when they set their sights on a target, they usually succeed. Due to this philosophy, which may occasionally be a bit impulsive, Chelsea has spent an incredible £1.1 billion (€1.3 billion, $1.42 billion) on new players since Todd Boehly and his BlueCo partners took over the team three summers ago.

However, there are still some glaring gaps in Enzo Maresca’s team, and another exciting summer at Stamford Bridge is anticipated. Beginning as they want to continue, it was announced on Friday morning that the Blues had won the competition to sign Quenda, a wingback who was a target for Manchester United. The wingback is expected to arrive in the summer of 2026 following what Fabrizio Romano called a “secret blitz” by the Blues.

Chelsea have finalised another transfer in the last few hours

The 20-year-old midfielder from Portugal is presently with Las Palmas on loan. Chelsea is taking notice of his performances. Essugo has apparently been being pursued by the Blues since January, and as they make plans for the future, they intend to pursue his signing. In March 2021, Essugo became Sporting’s youngest-ever debutant, making history in the process. He played against Vitoria de Guimaraes at the age of sixteen years and sixteen days.

According to CNN Portugal, the 20-year-old central midfielder will sign a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge for an agreed-upon sum of approximately £18.5 million (€22 million, $23.9 million). Essugo has made 23 appearances for the senior team thus far and, like Quenda, has shown great promise with the Primeira Liga powerhouses since he was a young youth.

Both clubs have not yet confirmed the deal to transfer to Chelsea, but a second source, Romano, has indicated that the Blues are interested in Essugo. Chelsea is still negotiating a deal to capture Sporting’s Dario Essugo for the future, Romano stated on X. Since January, BlueCo has been keeping an eye on the gifted midfield player, and despite the Quenda transaction, the team and Sporting still have a great connection.
