Chelsea are edging closer to securing exciting winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund after reaching a personal terms agreement that could see the 20‑year‑old commit to a seven‑year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea Close in on Jamie Gittens: Personal Terms Agreed Ahead of Club World Cup

Gittens, an electrifying presence on the flanks, has thrived in Germany since joining Dortmund in 2020.

In a breakthrough 2024–25 campaign, he notched 12 goals and five assists across 48 appearances, including a standout performance against Real Madrid where, at just 20 years and 75 days, he became the youngest Englishman ever to score in the Champions League.

His pace, dribbling, and attacking flair have made him one of the most talked-about young wingers in Europe.

According to multiple reports, Chelsea have now agreed in principle on personal terms with Gittens. The proposed seven-year contract would keep him at the club until 2032.

Sources suggest the Blues’ initial offer is in the region of €35 million, falling short of Dortmund’s €50–60 million valuation, which comes from a release clause in his current contract.

Negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, with Chelsea hopeful of bridging the gap before the Club World Cup kicks off.

Timing is crucial. Chelsea’s deadline to wrap up the deal—or at least register him—falls ahead of their tournament opener against LAFC on June 16.

Manager Enzo Maresca is keen to stitch up the deal swiftly so Gittens can slot into the squad and gel before the games begin.

For Gittens personally, the move represents a homecoming of sorts. A Chelsea youth graduate before spells at Reading, Manchester City, and finally Dortmund, he has expressed a strong desire to return to London.

And with his talent and ambition, a fresh chapter at Stamford Bridge feels fitting.
