Chelsea had a blockbuster summer after signing 7 players in one window!

The Blues splashed the cash as many big names arrived at the Bridge. However, when Chelsea finally submitted their 25 man squad list for the Premier League, there was one big shocking revelation.

Of all the names, one name the fans did not expect was – Petr Cech.

Yes, the Petr Cech – currently Chelsea’s director of football and former player and club legend. The Czech Republic captain retired from football over 18 months ago and has worked with Chelsea behind the scene since then.

However, it seems now that the 39 year old will be a part of the Blues campaign. It must be noted, funnily enough he is younger than Willy Caballero who is a part of the Chelsea squad.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper has made 443 Premier League appearances in total – 333 for Chelsea and 110 for the Gunners.

Since fans were initially confused as to why Cech was added, it was later cleared out the Blues needed an experienced back up player to the squad where players are being taken out with high frequency due to the situation with CoVID.

Cech will not be earning any wages as a player and will be a non-contract professional playing for Chelsea.
