Chelsea ace thinks he can thrive under new manager Maurizio Sarri

The 59 year old replaced Antonio Conte as new boss

Cesc Fabregas joined Chelsea from Barcelona on a five-year contract for a fee in the region of €33 million in 2014. He has been their mainstay in the midfield over the past past four seasons at the club.

The Spain International was pivotal in both the Blues Premier League victory in 2014-2015 season and 2016-2017 season. His vision and passing ranges were one of the important factors upon which the Premier League giants game play was based on.

But the 31 year old struggled for form last season. Despite making impressive 49 appearances for the club in all competitions, he was not a regular under Antonio Conte.

Former Arsenal star just scored 3 goals with 2 of them coming in the Premier League and assisted 5, which is quite less compared to his past seasons. He even missed out a place in the Spain World Cup squad after an underwhelming campaign.

Though he has been linked with a summer exit but was quick to dismiss the speculations and claimed that his future lies with the London club.

Chelsea confirmed Maurizio Sarri as their new head coach last week. He signed a three-year deal with the Stamford Bridge side and has replaced replace Antonio Conte, who was sacked despite his contract expiring next summer.

Faabregas believes that he will thrive under the former Napoli Head Coach and the exciting brand of football Napoli played under him bodes well for the future at the English side.

“His way of football, I believe in,” said the Spanish midfielder as quoted by Sky Sports.

“I really like it, I grew up in this system, in this quality of football, that he wants to bring to the football club.

“I think the type of player like myself, we can take a lot of advantage. We just have to train very hard, be united, be a team.”
