According to The Athletic, Everton has started negotiations with Chelsea to sign Armando Broja, but they need to raise money to complete the transaction. The 22-year-old is expected to depart Stamford Bridge in the summer following a terrible loan at Fulham the previous campaign. Although Broja was on loan at Craven Cottage for the second part of the season, he did not play much for Marco Silva’s team and was surpassed in the starting lineup by Rodrigo Muniz and Raul Jimenez.
The Albanian striker is still highly regarded in the Premier League despite his recent setbacks, and Everton is one of the teams interested in acquiring him. Any prospective agreement, meanwhile, depends on the Toffees’ ability to raise money. Everton’s current owner, Farhad Moshiri, is in negotiations with multiple possible bidders as the team is embroiled in a takeover issue.
Everton make enquiry at Stamford Bridge over loan signing
After being allowed to train apart from the first team, it is generally anticipated that Broja would move on before the deadline. After Sky Sports Germany revealed on August 11 that preliminary negotiations had been held with Stuttgart, a loan exit now seems to be a prospect. Calvert-Lewin, 22, appears to want to remain in the Premier League, but if the Toffees don’t receive any offers, the issue will be moot.
The Everton player, who scored in the friendly match against Roma, is predicted to start as a striker for Sean Dyche’s team should he decide to stay. However, it would be frustrating for Everton and Broja if he had already been shipped off to the Bundesliga after being linked to the Toffees throughout the summer, if a surprise offer came in before the deadline that the team was forced to accept.
