Chelsea’s newly appointed technical advisor Petr Cech has shed some light on Chelsea’s current managerial situations

“I am one of the articles that the coach has to choose from,” the 37-year-old told reporters in the Czech Republic over the weekend.

“I could consult all the candidates with the leadership, they know my ideas. The club has identified some of the coaches they are dealing with.”

One of the favourite managers who is very much in line to become the next boss at Stamford Bridge is Frank Lampard.

Lampard is a Chelsea legend, who left the club as the top scorer at the Bridge. He is now the boss at Derby County where he took over last season and did a fantastic job with the Rams.

With Chelsea’s current transfer ban situation complicating their new manager hunt, Lampard could well be in the hot seat as early as this week. However, Cech has ruled out a certainty of that happening yet.

“The situation is open, Frank [Lampard] is one of the candidates. The first team will start the preparation, by that time we would like to solve the coach’s question.”

The duo played together for Chelsea for almost a decade.
