The last time Liverpool were chasing the league title, they were in the lead and had Manchester City at their mercy.
In came a home game against Chelsea and Jose Mourinho, the then Chelsea boss, fielded a weak Blues team against a full strength Liverpool side at Anfield.
It turned out to be a nightmare day for Steven Gerrard as his infamous slip saw Demba Ba through on goal and the Blues went on to win 2-0 upsetting the odds and putting Liverpool off their top spot in the table.
The situations seem to be similar once again for the Anfield faithful and former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has warned Chelsea that Liverpool will be amped up for revenge.
Asked by his Sky Sports colleague Martin Tyler whether there is a score to be settled between the two clubs, Carragher replied: “Yes.”
He added: “Another question to be answered. We all know what happened the last time Liverpool were going for the title. It will be a huge atmosphere.
“Another game ticked off. There is a huge rivalry between Liverpool and Chelsea over the years. Add into the mix what happened last time Liverpool were going for the title.”
