Callum Wilson Is The Preferred Choice For Chelsea If Gonzalo Higuain Move Fails

Chelsea are ready to splash £50m for Bournemouth front man Callum Wilson if they fail to agree on a move for AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Alvaro Morata’s exit seems to be quite imminent as he is not the preferred choice for Maurizio Sarri to spearhead the Chelsea attack. The Spaniard arrived under much fanfare as the Blues spent £60m to acquire his services last season but the former Juventus talisman has failed to justify his price tag so far.

Sarri is very keen to bring in a new reinforcement at the expense of Morata who is destined to leave the Stamford Bridge. The 26 year old has been linked with a return to La Liga with Sevilla but for the time being, he will remain at Chelsea unless a new striker joins the club.

Sarri had a great rapport with Higuain during his stint at Napoli. Higuain netted 36 goals in his second season with the Italian club which fueled his transfer to Juventus.

Callum Wilson has been in great form for the Cherries this term and Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola even admitted their interest in the player. Cherries manager Eddie Howe is an avid admirer of the player and it remains to be seen if Chelsea could manage to pull this off.
