Callum Hudson-Odoi Growing In Confidence As Senior Stars Underperform

Callum Hudson-Odoi is feeling more confident with each passing game, stated the youngster.

Following an underwhelming 2019/20 season, the Chelsea winger has stepped up to the plate in recent times.

He has looked effective whenever introduced off the bench, scoring 4 goals in 15 appearances so far. Out of all the Chelsea players, Hudson-Odoi looked the most impressive in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

“I feel like I’m getting more confident day by day, I feel like I’m getting over my injury much more now, and I’m feeling more free,” Hudson said, as quoted by the club’s official website.

“I’m confident in what I’m doing, and now I need to keep working hard, keep showing myself on the pitch and keep proving that I can become better and better.”

Hudson-Odoi faced a tormenting period with injuries last term and issues outside of football distracting him. Because of that, Frank Lampard did not trust him enough in the starting XI. Now, the opportunity is ripe for the taking as senior players are underperforming.

Chelsea’s monstrous recruitment in the summer is proving to be a bit disappointing. If anything, the time is now for Hudson-Odoi to cement his spot in the first team.
