Brighton forward Joao Pedro has set his sights on a move to Chelsea this summer, according to former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown.

Brighton Star Joao Pedro Keen on Chelsea Move Amid Summer Transfer Interest

The 23-year-old Brazilian has impressed in his debut season at the Amex Stadium, catching the attention of several Premier League giants.

Football Insider recently revealed that Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all monitoring Pedro’s situation, with Brighton expected to demand around £70 million for their star attacker.

Pedro, who joined Brighton from Watford last summer, has reportedly expressed a desire to take the next step in his career — and Stamford Bridge is one of his preferred destinations.

Despite Chelsea’s internal doubts over his consistency in front of goal, Pedro remains on their shortlist of attacking targets.

“Joao Pedro is one I know they’ve looked at,” said Brown.

“There’s certainly a player there, and at his best he can be excellent. He wants to make the step up from Brighton, especially with them missing out on European football again.

I hear he’s spoken to people around him about a move, and he would be interested in Chelsea.”

Chelsea’s new manager Enzo Maresca is understood to be prioritizing a new striker this summer, with the club unconvinced by their current options.

Pedro joins a list that includes young talents Liam Delap and Emanuel Emegha.

However, the hefty price tag and question marks over Pedro’s goal return could prove to be stumbling blocks.

He has shown flashes of brilliance but has also struggled with consistency — a key factor for Chelsea, who are keen to find a reliable goalscorer to spearhead their rebuild.

While Chelsea weigh up their options, interest from Liverpool and Arsenal could complicate matters, especially if Brighton stick to their valuation.

As the transfer window approaches, Pedro’s future remains one to watch — and his desire to make a big leap could be the start of another high-profile summer saga.
