Kai Havertz has passed the Chelsea medical, according to reports.

The Havertz saga has been carrying on forever, with Chelsea interested in the player for a long time now. The Bayer Leverkusen player had a brilliant couple of seasons in Germany the last two years and was earmarked by a number of teams including the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich.

However, it seemed at a point that Havertz would stay in England after Bayer CEO made it clear that the player has a set fee which was unlikely to come down. The Bundesliga club demanded £90 million for the player and Chelsea had to really struggle to ake out a deal.

Finally, it seems, the Blues have made enough progress on the player by securing him for an initial £72 million followed by an additional £18 million in bonuses over 5 seasons.

Havertz will join the likes of Werner, Ziyech and Silva who have all made it to the Chelsea team this season. Latest reports are confirming that the player has passed his medical and is hours away from signing for the Blues officially.

He is likely to get the number 10 shirt previously worn by Willian and Hazard!
