Following his stellar season, Chelsea center-back/full-back Josh Acheampong is being considered for a move by Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund. Previously, the Blues had resisted allowing him to depart, even on loan. Nonetheless, according to the source, suitors think Chelsea would be open to a deal for £35 million.

Acheampong grabbed his shot with both hands as Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca gave it to him in the starting lineup. He has shown himself as a center defender, right back, and even a left back when necessary.

The supporters at Stamford Bridge have been enthused by Acheampong’s daring play and tendency to drive forward. When he enters midfield, he maintains his composure.

He will soon sign a new contract. Following Acheampong’s confident performance in the 3-0 victory over Legia Warsaw, Maresca declared his affection for him. “He has the potential to be a fantastic player, a top player for this club and football in general,” the Italian stated.

Dortmund exploring deal for Chelsea starlet Josh Acheampong

Some talented academy graduates have unfortunately been pawned off by Chelsea as a result of their excessive spending on their youth project. Conor Gallagher, Mason Mount, and Lewis Hall were sold to balance the books.

The Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) have put pressure on the West London club to sell strong defender Trevoh Chalobah for pure profit. Due to their increased interest, Borussia Dortmund is prepared to take action this summer. If Internazionale does, it is anticipated that they will join during a club makeover.

The Premier League teams Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also intrigued after watching Acheampong for a while. Although a loan has been considered the best option for all parties, Chelsea has turned down some of these offers.

However, in the midst of yet another PSR upheaval, there is now a sense that Chelsea would be especially amenable to a deal if it incorporates a team that has a player they desire. Chelsea’s long-standing interest in English winger Jamie Gittens may make room for Dortmund.
