According to insiders who spoke with Football Insider, Enzo Maresca’s employment at Chelsea is not in jeopardy despite some controversial remarks made following their victory against Everton. Prior to Chelsea’s 2-0 victory last Saturday, Maresca claimed to have experienced his worst 48 hours at the club. It is said that the Stamford Bridge leadership saw this as a reckless remark.

According to insiders, owner Todd Boehly is eager to give Maresca as much time as possible to make amends with the squad, so his admission of dissatisfaction won’t jeopardise his employment. After breaking their winless streak, the Blues returned to the top four of the Premier League, and neither Boehly nor the board had any immediate plans to respond to the manager’s revelation.

At Chelsea, Maresca’s remarks have drawn criticism, especially following a pivotal league victory at home. The Blues collected their first three points since the end of November after defeating a resurgent Everton with two goals from Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto.

Enzo Maresca dropped a cryptic hint over his Chelsea future

Maresca is scheduled to speak to the media tomorrow prior to Chelsea’s quarterfinal Carabao Cup match in Cardiff. The Blues manager posted a series of pictures from the Everton victory on his Instagram site earlier today, writing, “Oh Chelsea, we love you.”

A post-match debriefing with Eghbali and the sports directors is often conducted by the Chelsea manager. Whether this happened after Everton’s victory is unknown.

Maresca has brought attention to a conflict between the board and himself for the second time this season.

The former Leicester manager openly urged that a new centre defender be hired as a backup when Levi Colwill suffered an ACL injury on the first day of preseason, but he disclosed that the sports directors didn’t agree.

Eventually, Maresca gave up on the battle. After clashing with Eghbali and Todd Boehly over their attempts to alter the club’s culture, Thomas Tuchel was fired on the 100th day of Chelsea’s ownership.
