Billy Gilmour is back at Chelsea after a difficult loan spell at Norwich

Billy Gilmour enduring a difficult spell at Norwich due to injury and form.

The 20-year old academy graduate joined the Canaries in the summer window on loan but has now suffered a high ankle sprain.

He has returned to Chelsea for further assessment who earlier struggled for game time under previous manager Daniel Farke.

He started eight Premier League games in a row under new manager Dean Smith before suffering his ankle injury.

“Gilmour has an ankle injury that puts him out for three to four weeks,” Norwich boss Dean Smith said in a media conference.

“He’s gone back to Chelsea for them to assess it and I hope he’ll be back for treatment over the next few days.”

Tuchel has confirmed his condiiuton will be assessed before taking any decision on his loan spell.

“First of all we check his injury of course, he is our player,” he said. “He is here to have the best examination that we know about the situation and we can decide with him together and Norwich about the treatment and what is going on. We will take the decision. We have not talked so far if he stays or not.”
