Chelsea crusied to a 4-0 win last night versus Crystal Palace.
Thanks to a bright second half display from the Blues, Lampard’s men kicked off their home campaign in style. The deadlock was broken by Ben Chilwell who was making his 100th Premier League appearance and his Premier League debut for Chelsea.
The left back was on hand to smash home a close range effort, It was followed by a smart cross which was ably headed home by Kurt Zouma to make it 2-0 for Chelsea.
The next two goals were added by Jorginho from the penalty spot after Abraham and Havertz were tripped inside the box in the space of 10 minutes.
It was a smart display defensively as well for the Blues who kept their first clean sheet of the season in their fourth attempt in the league.
It was a good debut from Edouard Mendy as well who as it turned out did not have much to do. Thiago Silva had an effective display and made a few smart tackles and interceptions to keep the Palace attackers at bay.
Chelsea will head into the international break now and face Southampton once they are back.
