Behind closed doors: No more watching Chelsea live

Chelsea vs Bayern Munich on 18 March 2020 will be played behind closed doors.

After the Serie A got suspended, France are now suffering high casualty rate. Hence other countries are like Germany and England might now start taking precautions.

While England’s Liverpool might have to lift their first trophy in 30 years in isolation, Germany as well are planning on playing the remainder of the month at least if not the season behind closed doors.

“The goal must be to find the appropriate path between taking the right precautions and displaying excessive caution,” said DFL managing director Christian Seifert.

“At the same time, there is no question that the season must be played through to the end of May in order to determine promoted and relegated clubs and the participants for European competitions.

“This is the only way for clubs and the DFL to have planning certainty for next season.”

German health minister Jens Spahn has advised that any meeting exceeding the number of 1000 people gathering should be avoided.

This means Chelsea are well set to play the Champions League and by all means the rest of the season without their fans in the stadiums.
