Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has chosen Turkey as his preferred destination if he leaves the club, with the summer transfer window still open in certain regions.
Chelsea’s Disasi eyes Turkish move before window closes
Despite interest from Saudi Arabia, the 27-year-old French international would rather join a Turkish club.
Disasi, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, spent the latter half of the 2024–25 season on loan at Aston Villa.
However, Villa opted not to make the move permanent after he made ten appearances for Unai Emery’s side.
Chelsea had been actively trying to sell the centre-back throughout the summer but faced challenges in finding a suitable solution.
The former Monaco player attracted interest from Premier League clubs such as Bournemouth and West Ham, but negotiations with both fell through.
A proposed loan move to Monaco also collapsed, and Disasi reportedly turned down three additional Premier League loan offers on deadline day.
With the Turkish and Saudi Arabian transfer windows still open, clubs from both regions are exploring a move for the defender. Saudi side Neom SC is considering another approach, while Turkish club Besiktas has also shown interest.
However, Disasi has indicated a clear preference for Turkey over Saudi Arabia.
Disasi’s situation contrasts with that of his Chelsea teammate Raheem Sterling, who is also training away from the first team but is unwilling to move to Turkey or Saudi Arabia. Sterling is prepared to wait until at least January for a resolution.
Having made 61 appearances and scored six goals for Chelsea since joining from Monaco in 2023, Disasi is unlikely to play for the Blues again.
The club and player now await concrete offers from Turkish clubs as the window progresses.
