Atletico Madrid agree a deal with Chelsea to sign Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher has entered the final 12 months of his contract.

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is likely to leave the club amid transfer links with Atletico Madrid. As per reports, the La Liga giants have reportedly agreed on a deal with the Blues to sign Conor Gallagher.

Gallagher has refused the new contract deal from Chelsea. He is looking to play in Spain and wants new challenges. If Chelsea sells the Academy graduate, it would give profit and avoid falling foul of the Premier League’s Profit Rules.

Conor Gallagher has entered the final 12 months of his contract.  The West London club wanted to extend his contract as they look to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer.

According to The Athletic, the 24-year-old has opted to reject the chance to sign a new contract with Chelsea. The West London club offered him a fresh two-year deal with the option to extend by a further 12 months.

The talkSPORT reports that Atletico have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Gallagher for £33m plus add-ons. It is still unclear whether the Englishman will swap Chelsea for Atletico.
