Chelsea could sign Joao Felix for an initial fee under £40m.
There is a major update on the future of Joao Felix who is likely to make his return at Stamford Bridge. As per reports, Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix is reportedly prepared to take a pay cut so he can come back to Chelsea.
The 24-year-old has previously played for the Blues on loan during the 2022/23 season. He also made 20 appearances for the club and scored four goals.
After the loan stint with Chelsea, he went to play for Barcelona. He played the entire season for the Catalan giants under Xavi. Felix was instrumental for the club and scored 10 goals including six assists from 44 appearances.
The La Liga club appeared to be keen to re-sign Joao Felix but chances are pretty slim. The Portugal international can now plan a summer move to Chelsea. The Blues have started talks with Atletico over a potential deal for the young forward.
Chelsea were initially planning to sign his Atletico teammate Samu Omorodion, but they took a backstep. Meanwhile, Conor Gallagher’s switch to Atletico now hangs in the balance due to the fund issue.
As per the Telegraph, Joao Felix is willing to take a pay cut to complete a return to Chelsea. The Blues could sign the Portuguese forward for an initial fee under £40m. His contract is likely to end in the summer of 2029.
Felix would help Chelsea with a versatile option in attack due to his ability to play as a second striker, a winger and a number ten.
