According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Aston Villa has received encouragement in their summertime pursuit of Noni Madueke. Chelsea has expressed worries about the 23-year-old’s training attitude and if he fits into Enzo Maresca’s plans, according to senior journalist Pete O’Rourke, who made this revelation on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.
His uneven playing time at Stamford Bridge has angered him, and he is rumored to be amenable to a move that would allow him to play more frequently. After making his England debut earlier this season under Lee Carsley, he now hopes to establish himself as a mainstay for his nation under Thomas Tuchel.
This comes after former Villa scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the club wants to pursue Madueke because of Marcus Rashford’s success since he moved in in January. Nonetheless, they are anticipated to face competition, as several clubs throughout Europe are rumored to be interested in a possible agreement.
Chelsea increasingly open to Noni Madueke sale
Since Madueke is one of Aston Villa’s summer transfer window targets, this is good news for them. After a fantastic Champions League campaign this season, Unai Emery and sporting director Monchi will have a lot of money to spend, and a new winger will be on the agenda—even if Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio sign permanent contracts with Man United and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.
Madueke is also rumored to have drawn interest from AC Milan; thus, it will be difficult for Aston Villa to get him. The winger, who has scored nine goals and provided four assists for Chelsea this season across all competitions, would find it an alluring offer, though, given the allure of playing for the first team and the positive atmosphere.
It will be intriguing to see if Madueke can be signed by Aston Villa this summer. At this point, it does seem more likely than ever that Chelsea will make him available for a transfer at the end of the current campaign, which should offer Emery and Monchi some hope.
