Chelsea are constantly looking to add players to their roster, and they now have Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers in their sights. Even with all of the youthful talent the Blues gained this summer—including the sale of Christopher Nkunku, Noni Madueke, and Jadon Sancho—there is still a feeling that they can do better.

Rogers won the PFA Young Player of the Year title after having an incredible season in which he scored and assisted in double figures. This time around, things have not gone quite as well for him; Villa is having trouble, and Rogers is having a lot of trouble as a result.

There is a strong feeling that the project there is beginning to fall apart, especially after sporting director Monchi left earlier this month. If things continue to go wrong, we can anticipate that top players like Rogers may start to push to leave.

Chelsea is frequently recommended as a destination because of his long-standing connection with Cole Palmer. It won’t be simple, though, as CaughtOffside reports that Aston Villa is seeking £80 million for their attacker.

Morgan Rogers transfer situation explained

As previously said, Rogers is Chelsea’s main transfer target as they look to add more attacking midfield players; however, they are also considering other names. Given that Rogers might play for several elite teams, it is likely that a good number of other clubs will also become involved.

Although prior ties between Arsenal and Rogers have somewhat waned, we could yet see them join the race for Rogers. Villa undoubtedly does not want to lose such a key player, but given their current financial status, they may have to sell Rogers if sufficient bids are made.

A major name like Rogers going next wouldn’t be shocking, as Villa sold Douglas Luiz last summer, Jhon Duran in January, and Jacob Ramsey this year. Though he will have many alluring possibilities at his disposal, it will be intriguing to watch what the player himself chooses.
