The German’s contract with Chelsea runs out this summer.

The 28-year old defender will be out of contract by the end of this season and is currently one of the lowest-paid players in the squad.

He earns £90,000-a-week currently and Chelsea has reportedly offered £140,000-a-week on his contract extension.

Rudiger wants £210,000-a-week for his services at Stamford Bridge and it’s unlikely that Chelsea will accept the deal.

He recently revealed that the decision lies with the board to get his renewal completed.

‘I feel great here, I have always said it,’ Rudiger told the Athletic.

‘I think the way I play you can see that I’m happy here. But there are also other people who have to make decisions.’

‘Of course I want to win the Premier League,’ Rudiger added.

‘Does it keep getting better and better for me at Chelsea? Yes. We had never won this trophy (FIFA Club World Cup) in Chelsea’s history before. I’m very delighted that we didn’t give up, that we did our thing. We tried everything and won.

‘The Premier League is the toughest competition to be honest because Manchester City set a very high standard. We have to get to a point where we can go on a long marathon.’
