Andreas Christensen hopes to sign a new deal with Chelsea.

The 25-year old defender is out of contract next summer and has played a vital role for the Blues since Tuchel’s appointment earlier this year.

He has been impressive under the German manager and will be allowed to speak to other foreign clubs in January.

The Danish is uncertain on his contract situation but insists that his relationship with the club remains cordial.

Christensen said: ‘I will not comment on it, because you know everything that has been written.

‘I can’t do that at all. I feel valued, I’m happy, but I don’t get into the contract situation.

‘I’m still happy and I enjoy football, so there’s not so much. I have no idea about it at all, I do not feel that there is any pressure or anything, I just enjoy it.

‘I don’t know why everyone thinks it’s a bad situation. [Chelsea] have a player who right now enjoys playing football and the coach shows him confidence.

‘There is no bad relationship, there is nothing.’
