Alvaro Morata Doesn't Want To Return To Chelsea

Atletico Madrid are pondering their options of sending Alvaro Morata back to Chelsea after a less than impressive season.

The 26-year-old struggled at Stamford Bridge after tying down a £70m transfer from Real Madrid. He could not adapt to Maurizio Sarri’s system and had to move to the Wanda Metropolitana in search of more playing time.

Morata did start off great, just like he did with Chelsea but eventually has collected only 6 goals in 16 games under Diego Simeone. The Atletico boss wants to bring in a centre-forward who will be much more efficient in front of the opposition goal.

As per the SUN, Atletico are considering sending the striker back after it got revealed that they would be liable to pay Chelsea £15m to keep him till the summer of 2020. Simeone would much rather cut his losses and spend his resources on a player more suited to his style of play.

Morata is not exactly a wanted figure back at the Bridge and things could get complicated this summer. Chelsea are due to serve a transfer ban next season which would prevent them from signing any new players.

Having Morata back would only have been beneficial if there were no other options available. But the Blues are due to get Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham back from Crystal Palace and Aston Villa respectively.

The latter has stood out from the pack with 25 goals in the Championship and is ready to take his talents to the big stage.
