Sarri has said that he will rotate between Giroud and Morata

Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata has praised Maurizio Sarri’s man management skills.

The Spanish forward endured a difficult period since moving to London. He was brought in to replace Diego Costa but hardly had any effect in the last season. He made a wonderful start netting six in six matches but failed to maintain the productivity as he ended the last season with only 11 goals in his kitty.

Following Sarri’s arrival, Morata was linked with a move away from the Stamford Bridge. But Chelsea’s inability to land a striker in time has provided the striker with a much needed breathing space to prove his worth in the Blues shirt.

Sarri has shuffled between Olivier Giroud and Morata but the latter still remains the preferred choice to lead the attack.

Morata said, “They told me about Sarri playing beautiful football, also good at individual relationships,”

“The nice thing is you don’t have to wait for something to happen, an injury or a misunderstanding, to speak to him in a significant way.

“I remember one of the first times we met, he asked me what I thought of independence for Basque region. He surprised me, it’s nice to have a relationship like that, when being serious is needed he’s a true general.

“But if we can have fun, he gives you a stomach ache because he makes you laugh so much, he’s a genius!”
