Chelsea have taken a major step towards signing Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, with the player agreeing personal terms ahead of a potential move to Stamford Bridge, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.
Garnacho Agrees Personal Terms as Chelsea Move Advances
The 20-year-old Argentine international’s future at Old Trafford became uncertain this summer after falling out of favour under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Garnacho failed to feature in any pre-season matches for the Red Devils, clearly indicating he does not feature in Amorim’s plans for the upcoming 2025/2026 campaign.
With Garnacho keen to leave Manchester United, club-to-club negotiations between the Red Devils and Chelsea are now advanced.
Manchester United are holding firm on their £50 million valuation for the winger, arguing his price should not dip below the £52 million Chelsea received from Arsenal for Noni Madueke earlier in the window.
However, Chelsea believe Manchester United’s need for significant outgoings – especially to fund a potential move for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba – gives them leverage.
They also recognise that selling Garnacho, a homegrown player, represents pure profit on United’s books and are aiming to secure a deal for less than £40 million.
Both clubs anticipate finalising an agreement before the transfer window closes. Garnacho has reportedly made his desire to join Chelsea clear to the Manchester United hierarchy.
The Blues are concurrently managing their own squad reshuffle. They could wait for departures, notably forwards Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, before formally completing the Garnacho transfer.
Nkunku attracts interest from RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich, while Newcastle United may move for Jackson. AC Milan are also monitoring the situation but currently focus on attempting to sign Rasmus Hojlund on loan with an option to buy.
Chelsea also continue negotiations with RB Leipzig for Dutch attacker Xavi Simons. While Simons has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, the two clubs have yet to settle on a transfer fee.
The potential arrival of Garnacho adds another dynamic attacking option for manager Enzo Maresca.
