After Chelsea rejected their first bid, Ittihad Jeddah is still in the running for Spanish keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. After Marcelo Grohe left and Ittihad Jeddah lost its target Bento to rivals Al-Nassr, the team is searching for a new goalkeeper.
Having already initiated talks with both Kepa Arrizabalaga and his club Chelsea, Rudi Galleti claims that the player may be the Tigers’ answer to their goalkeeping problem. It has come to light that Ittihad is prepared to extend an offer to Kepa for a long-term deal for €7 million a year; yet, there are reportedly other teams who are interested in signing him.
The Spanish goalie, who was loaned to Real Madrid during the previous season, has just one year left on his deal, and Chelsea is eager to move him on during the window.
Al-Ittihad send official offer to unwanted Chelsea star
Al-Ittihad’s first bid for the 29-year-old was turned down earlier this month, but rumours have it that the team and Chelsea are still in discussions on a potential transfer. The Spaniard has joined the Blues for preseason training again, but it’s said that he’s working out apart from the first team while his future is being finalized.
He posted on X.com, saying: “#AlIttihad sent an official bid to #Kepa: a long-term contract with a salary set at €7 million per year.” The club is awaiting the GK’s response. Although Chelsea believes he is not part of the plans, talks are always ongoing, and PIF will continue to communicate with them.
