Sarri wants to use Chelsea stars' freshness towards the end of the season

The Chelsea academy has produced great stars of supreme calibre in the last decade or so. However, very few have made it to the top and actually played for the Blues.

This is so because of a vicious player-manager cycle at Chelsea which sees the youth of the club ultimately suffer. However, it seems Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are about to finally break that deadlock and Maurizio Sarri will become the manager to finally give two young players their chance. The Chelsea boss has confirmed that we will get to see more of the youth academy duo towards the flag end of the season.

“At the beginning of the season, Hudson-Odoi had a very great potential but wasn’t ready to play in the Premier League. Loftus-Cheek was the same, Loftus-Cheek had only to adapt to my football, to improve tactically for my football. Then he had a lot of problems with his back and so we had to wait for him.

“But now they are fresh, they are ready. They are improving so in this moment of the season they are fresh. I think that in this moment they are really very important for us.”
