The latest rounds of bizarre rumours have stated that Chelsea are keen on signing Atletico Madrid’s stylish midfielder Saul.

Now signing Saul might not sound so bad, in fact Chelsea could do with his quality in midfield. However, the reports get bizarre as Chelsea are expected to pay €150 million if they are to acquire his services.

Saul has been a brilliant player for Atletico Madrid over the last few years and has a contract that will take him in his 30s at the club. The player is creative in midfield, does not shy away from a fight in midfield and is also known to be a versatile cog in the side as he can play in wings when needed.

Chelsea on their part could be set to part ways with Eden Hazard in the summer as Real Madrid circle around the Belgian. The Blues will need themselves a replacement for Hazard who is one of the better players at Stamford Bridge.

Although Hazard’s sale might actually fund a budget big enough for Chelsea to buy Saul, it is difficult to imagine Abramovich throwing out that kind of money for a player who cannot be a direct replacement for Hazard.
