Alvaro Morata Insists He Is Delighted To Join Atletico Madrid

Alvaro Morata has spoken up as he prepares to undergo a medical with Atletico Madrid.

The Chelsea forward has been the subject of speculation and it seems the Blues have finally managed to offload the Spanish international. Terms between Chelsea and Atleti have been agreed and the former Real Madrid forward will join the Spanish giants with an initial 18 months loan deal.

Diego Simeone will have the chance to make the switch permanent if Morata does impress at the Wanda Metropolitano. With Diego Costa out injured Morata is likely to have a long stretch of games to make his mark in the La Liga.

The striker has fallen out of favour since Maurizio Sarri’s arrival and the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain has further curtailed his chances. The striker is expected to pass the medical and an announcement could be made soon.

Morata said, ‘I’m very happy for this stage, I have been waiting for days, I want everything to be completed and to start training with my teammates

‘The people who have always been with me know how I feel and how I will feel tomorrow and how the last days have been, I am very happy.

‘People have their thoughts, but I know what I have to do, I started playing at Atleti and people who know where I come from know my story and what this means to me.

‘The past is the past and can not be changed and I am very proud of that and I hope it will be finished tomorrow.’
