Gary Cahill May Remain At Chelsea Despite Fulham Interest

Gary Cahill’s much anticipated move to Fulham could be shelved as both the parties are yet to agree on terms.

The newly promoted side has struck a deal with Chelsea over his immediate transfer but the defender is having a second thought despite the fact he is keen to leave the Stamford Bridge for more game time.

The Premier League winner has fallen in the pecking order since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri and with Chelsea pretty well stocked in the defence department, they are likely to sanction his departure.

Fulham are in the dire need of overhauling their defence and Claudio Ranieri wants to complete a cut price deal for the English defender. The Cottagers have shipped 51 goals in the top flight so far which is the highest by any team and badly needed a boost in their survival fight.

But the length of the contract seems to be creating problems as the London giants are only keen to offer him a short term deal until the end of the season while the 33 year old wants to pen a long deal.

Also, He is not ready to join a club who are deeply submerged in the relegation zone and could be demoted to the second tier in five months time.
