Chelsea Winger Willian Speaks Up On His Linkups With Barcelona And Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea winger Willian has opened up on his rumoured link ups with Barcelona and manager Maurizio Sarri.

The 30 year old has been pretty regular this term and Maurizio Sarri has used him on both the flanks. There has been inconsistency in his form over the past couple of seasons and the Brazilian hasn’t been able to produce something concrete this season.

Eden Hazard’s brilliant form has made up for all the problems but Willian needs to push more to create more clear cut opportunities. With Christian Pulisic coming in the next season the Brazilian would definitely feel the heat.

His contract is scheduled to expire in 2020 and Chelsea don’t provide long term contracts to players who are above thirty. Willian said, “This time nothing came.

“If it arrived to the club, they did not pass me anything. In the past window Barcelona tried two or three times to sign me. This time I didn’t know anything. If it came to the club or my agent, I didn’t know anything. I still have my head at Chelsea.

“I think I’ve been playing a lot more this season. I started almost every game. We feel the coach has the confidence. Changed the team’s position a lot. He was able to fit the way he wants us to play. We play with a lot of ball possession, and we like it more. Take possession of the ball and play football. It’s pretty cool

“He is a coach who enjoys a lot of ball possession, of giving few touches on the ball. The player holds the ball only close to the box in the one-on-one play. He likes to play fast. That’s why the people call it ‘Sarri-ball’.

“He is a coach who jokes a lot. When we arrive with the face more closed, he already asks ‘Smile’. He likes to see the player happy.”
