Chelsea have announced a record profit for the end of the year 2018.

Not many saw it coming. When Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003, he wanted to make Chelsea an European powerhouse. He wanted to win trophies. He wanted a brand of football. He wanted the best players in Europe and in the world to play for his team and win it all.

15 years down the line Chelsea have invested over a billion dollars in player transfers and have won all there is to win in club football barring the club world cup championship of which they reached the finals.

Players have come and gone in the form of Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard, who is still at the club.

Chelsea have been the most successful English team since Roman’s investment into football and that stands testimony to the dedication and sincerity of his commitment to the club.

However, something Chelsea have never been good at was balancing the books. Buying players left and right, especially in the early days, where as many as 11 top class players came into the team in one transfer window, Chelsea were the lavish spenders.

However, recent changes have seen the club adopt a more balanced strategy and for the first time in Roman’s reign, Chelsea are proud to present a turnover with a record profit for the club.

What next for the Blues?
