Roberto Pereyra's Agent Makes Big Maurizio Sarri Claim

Roberto Pereyra’s agent has claimed his client is on the wishlist of Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri.

The Watford midfielder has had a productive season so far as he has racked up six goals and two assists so far. The Argentine international’s lively display on the pitch hasn’t gone unnoticed and he has been linked with a number of clubs including Chelsea.

Sarri has been on the lookout for reinforcements in the transfer market and Pereyra’s rise has made him an admirer of him. The 28 year old arrived from Juventus in 2016 for a reported fee of €15m and has been relishing his opportunity at Vicarage Road.

His representative Sergio Furlan said, “2018 was the year of his take-off.

“He scored a dozen goals in a calendar year, something he’d never done before, and we’re talking about a midfielder, not a striker.

“He starts from the left and comes inside. The coach is getting the best out of him in this position and he’s doing very well.

“[Walter] Mazzarri likes him, Maxi [Pereyra] has great esteem for Mazzarri because he’s a sincere man.

“Even Chelsea would like him but Watford has postponed everything until June.”

“Did Mazzarri want him at Toro [Torino] last summer? Yes, I can confirm that. There were talks, but the English team’s demands were considered excessive, I can’t deny that.

Chelsea also tried, but without success. To Toro [Torino] in the summer? It would amaze me if the Granata didn’t try again, but we must see Maxi’s desires, Watford’s plans and the offers that will arrive.
