Chelsea accept Bayern Munich’s bid for Callum Hudson-Odoi

According to the Metro, Chelsea have accepted Bayern Munich’s latest bid of £31.4 million for 18-year-old winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi has been the subject of repeated bidding from the Bavarian giants this winter, with the club desperate to sign a long-term replacement for Arjen Robben.

Hudson-Odoi is currently one of the most promising youngsters in English football and was instrumental in England’s triumph at the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup.

The 18-year-old has been on the periphery of Chelsea’s first-team for over a year but has made only three appearances in the Premier League. He was a part of the team that played in the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup, assisting both of Alvaro Morata’s goals.

Although Chelsea were keen to keep hold of their academy product, the youngster refused to sign a new contract due to lack of regular minutes at the club. However, Bayern were alert to the situation and, it looks like their persistent bidding has paid the dividends at last.

It has been reported that Bayern Munich have promised Hudson-Odoi the No.10 shirt, with Robben set to head for the exit door next summer.

Chelsea, though, are attempting to keep hold of the England Under-19 international until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
